What You See is What You Get... Right?

Hi, and welcome to my first “Love Bites” article.

Today’s topic discusses the idea that beauty is in the mind of the beholder. Well you know what? Some minds just aren’t that strong. It seems that most people, and mostly MALE people, are concerned with the outside of someone rather than what is inside. I give you the following example:

Casey and Lacey are clones. They look exactly the same, have the exact same mannerisms, and say the exact same things. One day the genetic engineers crop Lacey’s hair to her ears. Whoa, big difference! Men consistently flock to Casey now, because she’s got this long hair down to her waist. They are still the same clones; one just looks slightly different.

I see this all the time in my studies of people. (Ok, they’re not scientific studies, but I’m a big people watcher.) Now we’ve all read that men are visual creatures, but women are just as bad. We know men are staring at women. I see women looking for the men in tight Wranglers to watch their rear ends. Just because someone doesn’t have the right hair, is packing too many pounds, has bad teeth, or even is just wearing the wrong clothes, they get shunned.

Darlings, take heart. There is someone out there for everyone. There ARE men who love heavy women. There ARE women who like bald men. You are as beautiful as you want to be. Are you asking yourself, “But what about me? I’m a 300 pound Internet junkie who doesn’t get off the computer long enough for regular baths.” Oh baby, take a bath, get back online, and BE YOURSELF. As an Internet junkie myself, I know that you can find someone even online. And if you get bit, GET BIT! If you need to bite back, BITE! Most importantly, keep trying. Oh, and if you see someone that doesn’t look like the person you’d take home to Mother, talk to him or her anyway. You never know…that person just might turn out to be the love of your life.
