Welcome back to
another instalment of Oddities. This week we shall examine....
We've all looked under our beds to see if we
may be unknowingly keeping a monster in our midst. You never saw one
though, no matter how many times you looked. Every time you bent down
and looked under your bed, you always came up monster-less. So, why
did you think that they would want to be under your bed in the first
place? Monsters don't like to live under beds anymore than you do. If
you want to see a monster, you should go to places that they love to
hang out. This article will discuss some of their favourite haunts.
Imagine you are in your house kneeling down
with all of the lights out, peering out of your bedroom window. Out
among the trees, through the darkness two glowing red eyes are staring
back at you from the distance. Then in a split second they start
rushing toward you and crash through the window that you were gazing
out of. That would get your attention and everyone else's also
wouldn't it? Fout Arkansas is where the FOUT monster lives. This
remote section of Arkansas is spooky, very spooky. After driving
through a particular area, I felt as though I was being watched by
something. It was an eerie feeling. Later I knew that it was because I
had been in close proximate-y to Fout Arkansas and the woods have real
monsters residing in them. The fout monster is sort of a big foot type
creature that attacks on occasion. It is not as shy as the pacifist
big foot. The Fout Monster has attacked houses on more than one
occasion and scared the hell out of the occupants. So don't look under
your bed if you live near Fout Arkansas, some glowing red eyes may be
looking back at you!!
So many states have their local monster
legends. In Tennessee, there is the Tennessee Wyooter. Now don't ask
me what a Wyooter looks like. And don't ask any of the locals either.
I have never heard a good description yet of a Wyooter, but the locals
say it is around in these here hills! They hear it's screams in the
valleys late at night on occasion. Some say it has wings and most
people don't say anything about what it looks like. So if there is a
Wyooter, how would we know if we saw one? I may have had a few beers
with a Wyooter and never knew that they were a Wyooter! I don't know
about this Wyooter stuff. Let's move on to other monsters. I think it
is safe to look under your bed in Tennessee until we know what a
Wyooter looks like.
The famous New Jersey devil. That is an
interesting one. Now this one woman was in labour and was having some
type of problems at the time. I believe that she made some statement
about how she didn't want the child or something to that effect. She
may have made some pact with the devil himself, I don't know, but she
gave birth to this thing, which grew almost instantly after it was
born. It turned and killed it's mother, and of course the midwife was
watching the whole thing happen. After it killed it's mother, it flew
out of the room with it's wings.. If you ever see pictures drawn of
the New Jersey Devil, it looks like a perverted horse of a figure with
bat wings and a strange body. Now c'mon you Jersey devils, Have ya
been in the scotch a bit? If you live in New Jersey, feel free to look
under the bed.
How about the Carolina Gator Man? Now this
one actually has physical proof to back it up! There was a local
sheriff deputy that had a run in with the Gator Man. He claimed he was
driving his patrol car out in the country when this thing came out of
the brush and hit his car. He showed the damage to the vehicle, and
the press picked up on it too. This was years after the initial
sightings that got everyone excited when two younger people had a run
in with it in a similar manner. So if the gator man is there, don't
look under your bed if you live in the Carolinas either.
What about bigfoot then? Bigfoot is spotted
all over the place it seems. He hangs out mostly in the western U.S.,
but has been seen out east too every now and then. Oregon, Washington,
California, Missouri, Colorado, Ohio, and many other places may have
bigfoot in the area. There have been so many things said about
bigfoot, so I won't dwell on him too much. If you live in any bigfoot
hangout areas, go ahead and look under the bed, as he wouldn't fit
under it well anyway.
Then there is the famous alien to put up
with. Do they qualify as monsters? Some would say that they do.
Trouble is they are seen everywhere! They don't hang out under your
bed though, they do hang out at the foot of your bed and stare at you
with those big dark eyes. Then they take you on a fun journey to their
little space ship. So if you live anywhere at all, don't look under
the bed! Hide under the bed instead so that the aliens that are at the
foot of the bed don't see you! Then, when you are under the bed, YOU
will be the monster under the bed! OH NO!!! Bet you didn't think that
this article was going to end up with YOU being the monster under the
bed.. That just goes to show you though, it's an odd place out there
sometimes...Gtars said it. We would love to hear some great paranormal
stories on the discussion board. Do you have a local legend that haunts
your area? If you do, tell us about it on the discussion board in this
section of the site. Any stories that you have to contribute along with
comments on the paranormal are welcome. We love to hear strange things
