Pregnancy week 11

Baby measures 1.75 to 2.4 inches long, and weighs less than half an ounce. Baby is swallowing and kicking, and  vital organs are fully developed. Details are appearing, such as fingernails and peach-fuzz hair. The external genitalia are beginning to show and the development of the fetus into a male or a female will be complete in another three weeks.

During your next prenatal visit, prepare to hear the baby's rapid heartbeat. Your uterus is almost big enough to fill your pelvis. You might even be able to feel it above the middle of your pubic bone. Though you probably won't need maternity clothes for several more weeks yet, you may notice that your waist is thickening.
